Youth and children overall physical activity and sports participation rates are very low in China compared to the recommended guidelines. Low budget in rural schools, as well as lack of physical education programs in schools and sedentary lifestyle throughout the country are increasing as well. As a result, more and more youth and children are forced to sit on the sidelines each year and the immense benefits that sports can provide often go unrealized.

The FitHearts's Kids Need Sport (KNS) program provides impoverished, left-behind, and orphans children in rural China the lifelong benefits of sport and physical activity by providing sport and fitness training, equipment, apparels and footwear in rural schools.

The program is developed in collaboration with Stepping Stone, an organization in Shanghai improving the education of disadvantaged children in China by providing english lessons in Shanghai migrant schools and communities center and Shanghai Rende Foundation a Chinese non-governmental and grant making foundation supporting grass root charitable projects, first public raising foundation introduced by the Shanghai authority.
