Compulsory free education in most regions of China ends at grade nine. High school tuition, boarding and other expenses often represents 30 to 50% of family’s annual income, consequently, students from poor rural areas of China are often unable to afford the cost of high school. As a result, more than 60% of middle school graduates are unable to attend high school.
The FitHearts Education Sponsorship program provides impoverished, left-behind and orphans children in rural China financial support for tuition, boarding and other necessities, enabling them to attend higher education and succeed in life.
The program is developed with our key partners, Community Roots China (CRC), an organization in Shanghai providing disadvantaged children in rural China the support necessary for their education) and Shanghai Rende Foundation, a Chinese non-governmental and grant making foundation supporting grass root charitable project, first public raising foundation introduced by the Shanghai authority.
